iOS4 is a No No for iPhone 3G

My first post shall be something nerdy.

Hence the title, today I downgraded my iPhone 3G from iOS 4.0 (left) to iOS 3.1.2 (right).

I have been using the 4.0 software for about a month. And, I have concluded it is a mediocre update for the 3G. Apple had always had the attitude “out with the old and in with the new.” Their firmware updates make the older iDevices obsolete. Look at the iPhone 2G and iTouch 1G/2G. They have become obsolete due to the fact iOS 4.0 is not compatible with the devices. Meaning, there will no longer be support for them. Then again who am I to complain? Technology is always advancing.

Anyways, here are a few my pros and cons of the iOS4 (compared to 3.1.2) that stood out to me the most.

PROS:

Multitasking (Jailbreak option to add)
App categorizing

CONS:

Slower. RAM intake is huge due to Multitasking
Reception is BAD
WiFi is weaker
The new features drastically drains battery life
Apps load slower

CONCLUSION:
Do not upgrade your iPhone 3G to iOS4. Not sure how well it works on the 3GS.
